Advertising on TV - Get Creative People

I guess I can go out of my comfort zone here and start blasting the pharmaceutical companies but they're only doing what they've been doing for the last 25 years.....Giving us crap for commercials.  These wonderful saving your life products are only followed with the utmost depressing side effects that last longer in delivery than the curable prescription drug.

I mean come on does that rubbish really work?  Is that really productive advertising?  Is that really getting the most out of your budget?

Nope, big miss.  Its an irritant put on this world to give all with a remote control something to do.  For god sakes, be creative people.

BUT WAIT THEY'RE NOT ALONE

Can you believe there are marketing agencies offering commercials still with the premise that you can buy one product for $19.99 and get the second one for free.  But wait, that's not all.  You get the towel, the coffee mug....you get the picture.


We, as an audience on the 999 channels of television these days should be demanding things to entertain us.  Things to grab our attention.  Sure those things work but for certain demographics and in Northern California, I guarantee, is not one of them.  Why waste your budget on ineffective marketing using age old techniques that only result in the use of our thumb to change the channel and not get our wallet.

GET CREATIVE PEOPLE

There's a reason why the Super Bowl is popular to everyone.  It's cause the commercials are creative.  It draws crowds.  It gets results.

Anyone remember this



Doritos knocked it out of the park with this commercial.  It MADE Ali Landry a Star.  She went on to great things after her splits eating doritos commercial.  It went viral in minutes.  Sure it cost money but it was creative.  The only cost was the air time and production and the air time during the super bowl is crazy stupid for the reach.

Advertising on TV doesn't have to be difficult, it needs to be creative.  Creativity is KEY.  Right now their are some great agencies out there giving us entertaining commercials and advertisement.  You remember these.  It brands the product.  It gets shared in the land of mobile phones.  It gets viral.

Get creative people, don't settle for the plain.  Let your imagination go.
